Black Stars prospect Caleb Yirenkyi has shared candid insights into the difficulties of adapting to life in Europe after leaving Ghana to pursue his football career.
The FC Nordsjælland midfielder, a product of the Right to Dream Academy, spoke openly in an interview with former Ghana international Michael Essien about the personal and professional adjustments he has had to make since moving abroad.He highlighted the emotional and lifestyle challenges of living independently, while also acknowledging the support systems around him.
“I think leaving alone, being on your own, but I think in the space we are lucky to have some staff closer to us, also the people around us,” he said.
Yirenkyi also reflected on how the experience has shaped his maturity and development as a person and a player.
“Getting out of my comfort zone and growing up,” he added when describing the biggest change in his life since moving to Europe.
The highly rated youngster has enjoyed an impressive season in the Danish Superliga with FC Nordsjælland, attracting attention from several top European clubs.
Caleb Yirenkyi is currently with the Black Stars as they prepare for their opening World Cup group match against Panama in Toronto.
