Ghanaian youngster Caleb Yirenkyi found the back of the net as FC Nordsjaelland cruised to an emphatic 5-2 win over Randers FC in the Danish Superliga on Sunday at the Right to Dream Park.
The 19-year-old put in another impressive display, capping his performance with a goal in the 60th minute to extend Nordsjaelland’s lead during the second half.
Swedish forward Benjamin Nygren stole the show in the opening 45 minutes, scoring a brilliant first-half hat-trick with goals in the 24th, 38th, and 40th minutes to hand the hosts a comfortable lead going into halftime.
Randers briefly cut the deficit through Norman Campbell, but Yirenkyi responded quickly to restore Nordsjaelland’s three-goal cushion. Gustav Wikkheim added a fifth for the home side in the 77th minute to seal the result.
Mathias Greve grabbed a late consolation for Randers, but it made little difference as Nordsjaelland wrapped up a convincing win.
Yirenkyi, who continues to develop into a key player for the Danish side, has drawn the attention of top European clubs with his performances. His growing reputation adds to Nordsjaelland’s strong run as they push for a top finish in the league.
