Finally, Rigobert Song has been replaced after almost two months of being sacked by the FECAFOOT.

Cameroon was never happy with what transpired in Ivory Coast in the 2023 AFCON and hence sacked the head coach Song.

Off-field incidents especially Rigobert Song and Eto’s unhappiness with Manchester United goalkeeper Andrea Onana’s late arrival.

Song never had a stable mind to choose his number one goalkeeper and it affected their preparations. On the field, Cameroon never looked good in all the games they played and it called for changes.

The Indomitable Lions was eliminated by Nigeria in Round 16 after losing 2-0.

Rigobert Song was subsequently sacked and it has taken the FECAFOOT two good months to announce a new manager.

Many coaches were linked to the job but surprisingly, 61-year-old Mar Brys has been appointed to succeed Song.

Marc Brys recently managed OH Leuven in the Belgian League. In his 26 years as a manager, the Belgian tactician has managed many teams including FC Eindhoven, KV Mechelen, Den Bosch, Al-Raed, and Sint-Truiden among many other clubs.

The Cameroon job is his first at the international level and it is very surprising to the Cameroonian media.

Marc Brys is tasked to qualify Cameroon for the 2025 AFCON at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after spending two years.
