Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana have 22 players ready for Tuesday’s crucial encounter against The Gambia, with Ronald Donkor the only player still doubtful for the match.
Queiroz says the rest of the squad trained and are available for selection as Ghana prepare for the important fixture.
“We have 22 players ready to play tomorrow. The only player still in doubt is Ronald Donkor. All the other players trained tomorrow and are ready for the game tomorrow.”
The coach says the players are approaching the game with strong motivation and believes the team is physically and mentally prepared for the challenge.
Queiroz has also called on Ghanaian supporters to remain confident as the Black Stars look to respond on the pitch.
“The boys are ready with a lot of motivation and my message to the fans is a message of confidence” – Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of the game against Gambia on Tuesday.
The Portuguese coach’s comments will provide some encouragement to the Black Stars supporters, particularly after Ghana’s difficult start to the qualifying campaign.
With the majority of the squad available, Queiroz will now have several options to consider as he finalises his starting line-up for the encounter.
The match is expected to be an important test of Ghana’s ability to respond under pressure, with Queiroz insisting that his players are ready to fight for the result.
