Carlos Queiroz has outlined his tactical approach for Ghana’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash with The Gambia, insisting that the Black Stars must fight to win possession and maintain control of the game.
The Portuguese coach says Ghana’s ability to recover the ball and keep possession will be central to their chances of securing victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“We know that if we want to win the game, we have to fight to have the ball with us. We have to recover the ball and keep the ball with us,” Queiroz said.
The Black Stars are expected to approach the encounter with greater intensity as they look to respond to their opening qualifying defeat against Côte d’Ivoire.
Queiroz wants his players to be aggressive when Ghana loses possession, with the team expected to work collectively to win the ball back quickly and prevent The Gambia from establishing control.
