Carlos Queiroz has called for greater stability within the Ghana national team, stressing the need for clear communication, trust and a strong relationship between the Ghana Football Association and the players.
The Portuguese coach believes Ghana must establish a settled core of players who understand each other and are fully prepared to represent the Black Stars.
“We have to have the core of the team prepared, ready to come with clarity, honesty, right communication between the federation and the players,” Queiroz said.
According to the coach, maintaining continuity within the squad is important because frequent changes make it difficult for the technical team to develop a cohesive unit.
He says Ghana cannot afford to make major changes to the squad at every international call-up because the process of building understanding among the players would have to begin again.
“We cannot change 7,8,9,10 players every single call-up because every time we change the players, we have to start from zero,” Queiroz said.
Queiroz wants the Black Stars to have a reliable core that can develop familiarity with the team’s tactical approach, while new players can gradually be integrated when necessary.
The coach also believes that proper communication between the GFA and the players will be important in ensuring that everyone understands the expectations surrounding the national team.
His comments come as Ghana seeks to build a competitive squad capable of producing consistent performances in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
For Queiroz, squad stability is not only about keeping the same players but also creating an environment where the players, coaches and football authorities can communicate openly and work towards the same objectives.
The coach is therefore looking to establish a stronger foundation around the Black Stars, with consistency, commitment and mutual understanding forming important parts of his approach.
His immediate task is to translate that philosophy into results as Ghana continues its campaign, with the team expected to show greater organisation and cohesion in the matches ahead.
