At the Martyrs of February stadium in Benghazi Libya, minnows Abu Salim will welcome giants RS Berkane in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
This is a perfect example of David and Goliath’s battle. RS Berkane has won twice (2020 and 2022) the CAF Confederation Cup while Abu Salim is a newcomer as they even played in the top-flight division of the Libyan League in the 2019-19 season.
Abu Salim has lost four games in a row in all competitions. The Libyans won 9 points from a possible 18 in Group B.
RS Berkane on the other hand topped Group D after winning 14 points. The Moroccan contingents are the only team from Morocco left in both the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
Abu Salim will face a very good side on Sunday as they have to capitalise on the underdog tag.
