That is how traditional clubs do business! They respond always in an emphatic fashion even when the odds are well against them.

It was 1-0 on aggregate in the 80th minute after the Honduran international Jonathan Toro had given the Angolans a well-deserving lead in the 29th minute. The home team was slightly ahead in terms of possession in the first half but both teams had threatened each other the same number of times.

It was 7 consecutive games for Hugo Marques, the goalkeeper for Petro Luanda, without conceding a goal. The second half in Marques’ 8th game was almost fine as the momentum was with the home team but Lamine Ndiaye’s TP Mazembe had different plans towards the end of the game.

With 81 minutes on the clock, the excitement for TP Mazembe happened with Phillipe Kinzumbi scoring to silence the cheering Luanda crown. That was not the end as the Congolese side added the icing on the cake through Joel Beya’s 92nd-minute goal.

The elation on TP Mazembe’s bench was extraordinary as the frustrations on the faces of Petro Luanda players were so sad.

This is the stage experience has always counted as the minnows always fight the big boys but lack the needed confidence to finish them off.

TP Mazembe’s vast experience played a key role in their wonderful triumph in Angola as they knew when to charge and when to relax.
