Athletic Bilbao’s Sporting Director, Mikel Gonzalez, spoke highly of Inaki Williams, praising his dedication in an interview with the BBC as the team prepares for the Copa Del Rey final against Real Mallorca.
Gonzalez emphasized Williams’ pivotal role in Bilbao’s journey towards potentially securing their first title of the season, acknowledging his significant contributions alongside his brother, Nico, throughout the tournament.
He specifically pointed out Inaki’s role in mentoring and supporting his younger brother’s progress, commending him as a shining example of hard work and dedication.
“Inaki plays a crucial part in Nico’s development. Despite Nico’s immense talent, he faces various distractions from clubs and agents due to his young age. Inaki serves as a model of perseverance,” Gonzalez noted.
Reflecting on their situation at Bilbao, Gonzalez highlighted the brothers’ strong commitment to the club’s vision and their satisfaction with the team’s environment, coaching staff, and overall dynamics.
“Nico and Inaki both feel a deep connection to Bilbao. They are fully aligned with the club’s goals and are content with the team, coaching staff, and all other aspects,” he further commented.
While Nico represents Spain on the international stage, Inaki proudly represents Ghana, reflecting their heritage as children of Ghanaian parents born in Spain.
