Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo is showing his potential this season, with the 22-year-old scoring five goals and assisting another seven in all competitions so far.
Semenyo’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed and he has since attracted interest from a number of clubs including Scottish giants Celtic.
Bristol World reported last week that Celtic are one team that are monitoring the forward and sent scouts to watch him in action against Reading.
Semenyo, whose contract expires in June 2023, has become one of Bristol City’s most exciting young prospects and boss Nigel Pearson has made it clear that he won’t be leaving on the cheap.
When asked about Semenyo in the Robins’ press conference, Pearson said: “We’re very glad we have him, and if somebody else wants him, he’s going to cost them an awful lot of dough, so keep your hands off.”
Sports World Ghana, understands that, Celtic will have to offer a ‘big package’ to lure Semenyo away from Ashton Gate, with the Robins academy product becoming an increasingly important figure in the side.
Jones told GiveMeSport: “He’s on a really good deal at Bristol City. In the last window, there were clubs inquiring about him, and they were told he would cost around £15 million.
“It’s going be a big package if they want to sign him.”
While Semenyo has 18 months left on his contract, Bristol City also have the option to extend his stay by another year so are in a strong position.
