Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader in the Ghanaian Parliament, has expressed his opinion that some players within the Black Stars squad have lost their value and may no longer be beneficial to the national team.
He believes that there are approximately two or three players who do not meet the expected standards.
In his view, the national team’s coach has a wealth of emerging talent at his disposal, which can be considered as replacements for those players who may no longer be contributing effectively to the squad. This reflects a call for rejuvenation and the inclusion of fresh, promising talents to enhance the Black Stars’ performance.
Kyei Mensah Bonsu made these remarks during an interview on Akoma 87.9 FM, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a competitive and dynamic national team that can perform at the highest level.
“Few Black Stars players, in my opinion, have exceeded their usefulness. I think we should replace those guys because from what I’ve seen roughly two or three, they don’t measure up to par.”
“The coach has numerous up and coming stars that he can choose from as their replacement”
Meanwhile, Ghana will take on Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, November 17 before travelling to face Comoros on Tuesday, November 21 at the Moroni Stadium.
The Black Stars, who have come under pressure will hope to win the games as they hope to make it to a fifth Mundial appearance before leaving for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January.
