Freda Ayisi, midfielder for Charlton Athletic, has expressed her fervent desire to contribute to the Black Queens’ quest for Olympic qualification in Paris.
The England-based player joined the Black Queens for the first time on Monday and actively participated in training with her teammates on Tuesday, as they ramped up preparations for the upcoming clash against Zambia.
Ahead of the crucial fixture, where the Black Queens will host the Copper Queens in Accra before the return leg in Lusaka, Ayisi conveyed her excitement about joining the squad and emphasized her commitment to the team’s goals.
“It feels amazing. I am happy to be here, training with the girls feels just like home,” Ayisi remarked after training. “Our main focus is to take each game at a time and hopefully qualify for the Olympics. This Friday’s game is crucial, and we need the energy from the crowd. Make sure you come show some love to all of us,” she added.
The Black Queens are on a mission to secure their first-ever appearance in women’s football at the prestigious multi-sport event, and Ayisi’s addition adds depth and skill to their squad as they pursue this historic achievement.
