English Premier League giants Chelsea have extended a trial opportunity to promising Ghanaian defender Stanley Quarshie, currently playing for VIM Academy in Ghana.
The left-footed centre-back, known for his agility and versatility, is set to train with Chelsea’s youth team in London as he aims to secure a permanent move to the club.
Quarshie’s trial marks the latest instance of a Ghanaian talent catching the eye of major European clubs. His rise follows in the footsteps of other Ghanaians such as David Oduro, who recently signed with Barcelona from Accra Lions, and others like Fatawu Ganiwu and Vincent Morbilla, who have also trialed abroad.
Chelsea has shown increased interest in Ghanaian players in recent years, with the likes of Michael Essien, Baba Abdul Rahman, and the late Christian Atsu having donned the famous blue shirt.
Quarshie hopes to follow their path as the next Ghanaian to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.
