The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a two-game ultimatum to Chris Hughton, the head coach of the Black Stars, to improve the team’s performance.
Initial reports on Thursday, November 9, suggested that the Ghana FA would convene an Executive Council meeting on Friday to terminate Hughton’s contract. However, it appears these reports may have been misleading.
This development follows the recent announcement of the Black Stars squad for the November international break by Coach Chris Hughton. The squad includes three goalkeepers, with Joseph Wollacott returning after recovering from injury. Notably, Baba Rahman is absent from the squad, while Kasim Nuhu Adams makes a return.
Key players such as Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Kudus, and the Ayew brothers are all part of the squad. The squad announcement implies that Hughton will lead Ghana into the first round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and his performance will be evaluated after these upcoming games.
The scheduled matches are against Madagascar on November 17 and Comoros on November 21.
