Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton expresses hope for Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey’s swift recovery and return to peak form ahead of the Black Stars’ 2023 AFCON campaign.
In an interview with the BBC leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar on November 17 and Comoros on November 21, Hughton discussed Partey’s absence.
Partey is sidelined for both matches due to a muscle injury sustained before Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League Match Day 3 fixture against Sevilla in Spain.
His recovery faced setbacks, leading the former Atletico Madrid player to consult a specialist for a thigh issue.
Hughton stated, “We are all very much aware of the quality of player that he is. Unfortunately for us, he is injured at this period of time. We are very hopeful that he will be fit and back playing and in good form by the time we get to AFCON, but at this very moment, we don’t know.”
