Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho – Tamakloe has said that he would have resigned as head of the association if he were the current GFA boss as government reportedly wanted to have Chris Hughton as Black Stars head coach.
The veteran football administrator was asked about perceived government interference in the affairs of the GFA and this is what he said :
“I will give you a classic example. After our AFCON failure all that we hear is that the government want Chris Hughton appointed as the next Ghana coach and the GFA wanted Otto Addo.
“If I was the chairman of the GFA now. I would have taken my pen and resigned.” the Hearts of Oak board member said on GTV Sports Plus.
The GFA appointed Addo as the interim Black Stars head coach with Chris Hughton as a technical advisor to the newly formed technical team.
Assisting Otto Addo as deputy coaches are FC Nordjalland development coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and Aston Villa U-23 manager George Boateng.
