Black Stars’ new head coach, Chris Hughton has says he is focused on winning games for the four time African Champions.
According to the coach, it is the only way Ghana can amass the needed points to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
“Our aim of course, is to qualify for AFCON and to do well in AFCON. The only way you can do that is to win football matches,” Coach Chris Hughton shared.
Meanwhile, the gaffer has indicated that he wants to win his first match as Black Stars head coach to get off to a good start.
“Yes, it’s important [to win the first game] because it is the first game but also it’s not about the head coach. It’s about us playing a good game at home against a very good opposition in Angola.
“For me personally it will be a wonderful thing and of course hugely important to get the win but more importantly for the team. To win this game at home is hugely important,” Coach Chris Hughton indicated.
Ghana takes on Angola on Friday, March 23, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The game will kick off at 16:00GMT.
