FC Sheriff Tiraspol left-back, Patrick Kpozo says Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton warned the team against conceding a goal last Sunday in Antananarivo.
He said the gaffer was very particular about the team nor conceding a goal against Madagascar on a rough pitch like what they played on last Sunday.
Ghana drew goalless against the minnows away from home in their penultimate Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which saw them winless in all three away matches.
Patrick Kpozo: ‘Before the Madagascar game, Chris Hughton told us the pitch wasn’t good.”
“He said we should try not to make mistakes and concede goals, that’s why sometimes you see us playing long balls”, he told Citi TV.
Kpozo played the entire duration of the match on his debut in the absence of Baba Rahman and Gideon Mensah who are regular for the Black Stars.
