Major League Soccer (MLS) club Colorado Rapids have completed the signing of talented Ghanaian midfielder Ali Fadal from Spanish side Valencia Mestalla.
The 21-year-old has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the club through the 2026 season, with options to extend his stay until 2028. The Rapids officially announced the deal on Saturday.
Expressing his excitement about the signing, the club’s sporting director, Fran Taylor, said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ali to the Colorado Rapids.”
Taylor also highlighted Fadal’s potential and the experience he has gained from his time in Europe, adding:
“Ali is a dynamic player who has gained valuable experience in one of Europe’s most respected development systems. We look forward to helping him grow as a player and seeing him make an impact in Major League Soccer.”
Fadal began his football journey at Angel Soccer Academy in Ghana before moving to the Montverde Academy in the United States. In 2022, he joined Valencia’s youth setup, making 32 appearances for the reserve side, Valencia B.
The young midfielder also had the opportunity to feature for Valencia’s senior team, making his debut in the Copa del Rey last year.
