Aduana FC head coach Cioba Aristica says his side will travel to face Asante Kotoko on Sunday with confidence rather than fear as they clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The league leaders are enjoying a superb run of form, winning four straight matches and stretching their unbeaten streak to five games following a goalless draw with Medeama SC last weekend.
Aduana have been particularly impressive defensively, conceding just one goal in their last five outings. They also hold the joint second-best defensive record in the league, having scored nine goals while allowing only four all season.
“Sunday is a big test, no doubt,” Aristica said. “We’re going into a tough ground against a tough opponent. But we’ve worked too hard, grown too much, and shown too much quality to walk into any stadium with doubt.”
Asante Kotoko, led by coach Abdul Karim Zito, remain unbeaten in the Ghana Premier League. Recent results include a narrow 1-0 win over rivals Hearts of Oak and a 0-0 draw with Vision FC.
The Porcupine Warriors sit seventh with 15 points from seven matches and still have two outstanding games, which could significantly improve their position on the table.
Kotoko also hold a slight psychological advantage, having defeated Aduana in three of their last five home meetings, with one draw and one defeat completing the recent head-to-head record.
