The exact date for the main tournament has not been fixed by CAF but the dates for the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON to be played in Morocco have been announced.
The qualifiers for the prestigious African Cup of Nations will start in September 2024 with two games (matchday 1 and 2) set to be played.
Matchdays 3 and 4 will continue in October 2024 while the final rounds, 5 and 6 will be played in November.
Although the draw for the group stages has not been done yet, it will take place on Thursday, 04 July 2024, in Johannesburg, South Africa, per CAF.
It will be conducted at SuperSport Studios in South Africa at 14h30 local time (15h30 Cairo time, 12h30 GMT).
48 Nations which includes the four winners from the preliminary round (Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan) will take part in the draw.
The teams will be drawn into 12 Groups of four teams each to battle it out for places at the finals.
