Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has been omitted from Otto Addo’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR) in June.
Ayew, who plays for Le Havre and finished the French Ligue 1 season with five goals, was not included in the squad as part of a new direction set by coach Otto Addo.
While veterans like Daniel Amartey and Thomas Partey are still in the squad, their future involvement is expected to diminish as the team evolves.
The revamped Black Stars are set to feature Mohammed Kudus of West Ham United as a central figure, with rising stars such as Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Tariq Lamptey anticipated to take on more significant roles.
The Black Stars will play Mali in Bamako on June 6, followed by a match against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10.
