Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has announced that defender Dennis Nkrumah Korsah will not be part of the team’s roster for the upcoming season.
The decision was made after Korsah failed to appear in the team’s recent match against Heart of Lions in the 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup.
The Phobians lifted the trophy after defeating Heart of Lions on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time. After the game, Ouattara revealed that Korsah was not part of the team’s plans going forward.
“We are in a new era and this time, it is not about names. The names is not important. It is a strategy we are putting in place to fit everyone,” Ouattara said. “Michael Ampadu is injured, that is why he didn’t play, but for Korsah, he is not with us anymore.”
Korsah joined Hearts of Oak in 2022 from Ebusua Dwarfs following an impressive performance at the time. He was instrumental in the team’s FA Cup and President Cup wins in 2022, and even earned his maiden Ghana call-up in 2022.
The 28-year-old defender is now expected to find himself a new club before the commencement of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
