Ghanaian forward Daniel Agyei continued his goalscoring form after finding the net in Kocaelispor’s convincing 2-0 victory over Eyupspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.
The 28-year-old handed Kocaelispor a dream start, opening the scoring just five minutes into the encounter at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium.
Agyei was perfectly positioned inside the penalty area to pounce on the rebound after Eyupspor goalkeeper Ivo Grbić parried Mahamadou Susoho’s initial effort into his path. The Ghanaian made no mistake, calmly slotting the ball into the net to give the visitors an early advantage.
Buoyed by the breakthrough, Kocaelispor continued to dominate proceedings and doubled their lead in the 28th minute. Berkan Kutlu finished off a well-worked move involving Makana Baku and Rigoberto Rivas to put the visitors firmly in control before the interval.
Eyupspor pushed for a response after the restart, but Kocaelispor produced a disciplined defensive display to keep the hosts at bay and secure a valuable clean sheet alongside all three points.
Agyei remained a constant threat throughout the contest and nearly grabbed his second goal of the afternoon in the 68th minute, only to be denied by a fine save from Grbić.
The goal was Agyei’s second in 11 Turkish Super Lig appearances this season. While he is yet to register an assist, the Ghanaian striker continues to play an important role in Kocaelispor’s attacking setup as they look to climb the league table.
His latest strike will further boost his confidence as he seeks to build on an encouraging start to the 2026/27 campaign with the Turkish outfit.
