Despite a narrow victory over West Ham United on the final day of the season, Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey and his team Leicester City suffered relegation from the English Premier League.

After a nine-year stay in the top flight, Leicester City’s fate was sealed as they finished two points adrift from safety. Everton’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth ensured Leicester’s demotion to the Championship.

The Leicester supporters at the King Power Stadium were left disappointed after a challenging season that saw their team win only nine league matches.

Although Leicester took the lead through Harvey Barnes and added a second goal through Wout Faes, news of Everton’s goal dampened the atmosphere.

West Ham’s Pablo Fornals pulled a goal back, but the result couldn’t save Leicester City from the drop.
