Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey had a great time on the fiend last Friday night in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria in goalless stalemate.

However, the defender has not been given the praises he deserves for that splendid work he did on Nigeria In-form striker who plays for SS Napoli in the Italy Serie A, Victor Osimhen.

The former FC Copenhagen center-back gave his best as always for Ghana in the crucial Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs first leg aga the Highly-rated Super Eagles of Nigeria team.

Amartey took Osimhen out of the game and superior in defense for the Black Stars nullifying the Osimhen threat to give goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot breathing space in goal.

He was superb in his partnership with RC Strasbourg Alsace deputy captain Alexander Djiku throughout the 90 minutes and made his teammates at club level Kelechi Iheanacho a mere passenger in the game.

He carried the ball very well any time he pushed the team forward from the back with great display and was full of confidence anytime he was on the ball.

He started most of Ghana’s buildup play from the back and always had things under control with sleek passing and made only one error at the back.

He was outstanding at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the stars and is expected as usual to show up against same opponents in Abuja on Tuesday as he hopes to qualify for the first to play at the biggest FIFA tournament in Qatar later this year.

The first leg was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Friday March 25 and Tuesday March 29 is the day the second leg will be held in Abuja.
