18-year-old Danish-Ghanaian centre-back Graham Ankamafio has been promoted to FC Copenhagen’s first team for their winter training camp in Spain, signaling the Danish club’s growing confidence in the young defender.

Ankamafio has been a standout performer for Denmark’s youth national teams, featuring regularly at U17 and U19 levels and demonstrating composure, tactical awareness, and physicality well beyond his years.

In a June 2025 interview, Ankamafio revealed his aspiration to represent Ghana at senior level, keeping the door open to potentially switching international allegiance despite his development within the Danish setup.

FC Copenhagen’s decision to include him in the senior squad comes as the club looks to integrate promising youth talent into first-team preparations, and the winter camp in Spain will provide a crucial platform for Ankamafio to impress head coach Jacob Neestrup.

“This is a huge opportunity for me to learn and show I belong at this level,” Ankamafio said. “I hope to make the most of it and continue improving every day.”

The young defender’s inclusion in first-team activities not only marks a milestone in his club career but also strengthens his case for future international recognition, whether with Denmark or Ghana.
