Ghanaian midfielder David Abagna has officially submitted a transfer request to APOEL FC, with the Cypriot giants confirming that the player asked for permission to negotiate with a specific club abroad.

According to the club, the 27-year-old midfielder personally approached management with a request to open discussions with the unnamed foreign club, signalling his desire to pursue a new challenge outside Cyprus.

Following the request, negotiations between APOEL and the interested club progressed quickly. After three days of discussions, both sides successfully reached an agreement on a transfer fee, paving the way for the Ghanaian midfielder to complete a potential move.

The development marks a significant moment in Abagna’s career, as the talented midfielder looks set to begin a new chapter away from APOEL FC. His time with the Nicosia-based club has seen him play an important role in midfield, contributing with his creativity, vision, and work rate.

Abagna has built a reputation as a technically gifted midfielder capable of dictating play, linking midfield with attack, and creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. His ability to control the tempo of matches and deliver decisive passes has made him a valuable asset during his spell with the Cypriot side.

The club’s confirmation that a transfer fee has already been agreed suggests the deal could soon be finalized, pending the completion of personal terms and other formalities between the player and the interested club.

As talks progress, attention will now shift to the identity of the foreign club interested in Abagna and the league he could be heading to next. The move, once completed, could represent another step forward for the Ghanaian midfielder as he continues his career in European football.

Further updates are expected in the coming days as negotiations reach their final stages and the potential transfer edges closer to completion.
