Ghanaian defender David Acquah continued his fine scoring form as he netted the opening goal for FC Aarau in their 2–2 draw with FC Yverdon-Sport in the Swiss Challenge League on Saturday.
It marks back-to-back league goals for the centre-back, who has recently found a rich vein of form in front of goal for Aarau.
Acquah opened the scoring for the hosts, but Yverdon responded to ensure the points were shared in an evenly contested encounter.
His compatriot Daniel Afriyie Barnieh also featured in the match, coming off the bench to play 18 minutes in the second half as Aarau pushed for a winner in a closely fought game.
The defender’s latest strike takes him to three goals and one assist for the season, highlighting his growing influence at both ends of the pitch.
Barnieh, meanwhile, continues to enjoy an impressive campaign, now registering 12 goals and 7 assists for Aarau as one of their key attacking contributors.
Despite the draw, both Ghanaian players remain central figures in Aarau’s push in the Swiss second tier.
