Derrick Kohn, the Union Berlin left-back and recently capped Black Stars defender, is looking forward to Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Germany in March as part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite having a Ghanaian parent, Kohn has spent his entire life in Germany, giving him a unique perspective on facing the country of his birth. In an exclusive interview with 3Sports, Kohn shared his excitement and ambitions for the clash.
Speaking about his anticipation for the friendly, Kohn revealed just how eager he is to have Ghana fans in attendance:

“I can’t wait [friendly against Germany]. I was texting already the team manager of Black Stars, if I’m in the squad, please I need 100 tickets. I need a lot of tickets.”
Kohn also highlighted the strong interest from his friends and contacts in Germany, emphasizing the personal significance of the match:
“The whole Germany is texting me like, please, if you can make it happen, we’re going to come. But I know when I’m there, for sure I knew the German guys will come and I want to show them that Ghana is there.”
