Didi Dramani has expressed great satisfaction after guiding Accra Hearts of Oak to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League despite his side finishing the game with ten men.
The Phobians travelled to Kumasi for the Week 22 clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and secured a crucial win courtesy of a first-half goal from Baba Adamu.
Adamu’s strike proved decisive in the fiercely contested encounter, giving Hearts the advantage before the game took a dramatic turn with a red card that reduced the visitors to ten men.
Speaking after the match, Dramani indicated that his team executed their game plan effectively from the onset. He explained that the technical team carefully analysed Kotoko’s strengths and weaknesses and believed his side controlled the tempo early in the game.
According to him, the sending-off momentarily unsettled the team, forcing them to adjust quickly. He noted that the halftime break allowed the players to reorganise tactically and manage the situation better in the second half.
Hearts of Oak showed discipline and resilience after the dismissal, holding firm under pressure to protect their slim lead until the final whistle.
The victory lifts Hearts of Oak to third place on the league table with 39 points, just five behind leaders Medeama SC, keeping their title ambitions firmly on track as the season intensifies.
