Alexander Djiku and Kojo Oppong Peprah are expected to arrive in Vienna today to join the Ghana national football team camp as preparations continue for upcoming international friendlies.
The Black Stars opened their training camp on Sunday in the Austrian capital ahead of matches against Austria national football team and Germany national football team. A total of 21 players took part in the team’s first training session on Monday as the technical team began fine-tuning tactics.
Among those involved were goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, and Joseph Anang. The defensive unit featured players like Gideon Mensah and Jerome Opoku, while the midfield and attack included key names such as Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Kamal Deen Sulemana, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
Deputy captain Thomas Partey was present in camp but did not participate in the opening training session.
The arrival of Djiku and Oppong Peprah is expected to strengthen the squad as preparations intensify for the two high-profile fixtures. Ghana will first take on Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadium on March 27, before traveling to Stuttgart to face Germany on March 30.
The friendly matches form part of Ghana’s build-up towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
