Ghanaian legend, James Kwasi Appiah has advised Chris Hughton on what he needs to do to be successful as the Black Stars head coach.
The interference in the jobs of national team coaches by officials of the Ghana Football Association has always been a public perception but people attached seriousness to it when former Black Stars coach, Charles Akonnor confirmed that the rumours are true.
Akwasi Appiah while advising Chris Hughton said the bus stops with him and the movement he gives in to external influence, he will have problems in his job with the national team.
“If you are a coach and you allow yourself to be dictated to then, I will have a problem,” Appiah, who was named as the new Sudan head coach said on Accra-based Asempa FM.
“It is not appropriate for anybody to do that but if it happens and you the coach bow to that, from that time, I will not respect you again and I will conclude that you don’t know your job because once you accept the influence, the player call ups will be determined by them.
“As a national team coach, the coach must stand by his decision. We see that at the club side because that is a developing area but not at the national team,” the Asante Kotoko technical director added.
