Ghanaian forward Douglas Owusu has completed a four-year transfer to Hapoel Tel Aviv after sealing a move from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade.
The 20-year-old attacker successfully completed his medical and will wear the number 35 jersey. He is expected to join his new teammates ahead of the club’s return-leg clash against Katowice.
Owusu moved to Serbia two years ago, joining Radnik Surdulica, where he impressed by scoring seven goals in 20 appearances during the first half of last season. His performances earned him a transfer to Red Star Belgrade in January, where he added two goals in 13 matches and helped the club win the Serbian league and cup double.
Expressing his excitement after completing the move, Owusu described Hapoel Tel Aviv as a “huge club” and praised the team’s passionate supporters.
“I am very excited to join this huge club. I saw the extraordinary displays of the crowd at the games, and I believe that together with the team, we will fight and give everything for Hapoel.”
The Ghanaian also sent a message to the club’s supporters ahead of the new season.
“I look forward to seeing you in Hungary. Come on Hapoel.”
The transfer marks another significant step in the young Ghanaian’s career as he prepares for a new challenge in Israeli football.
