Former Ghana Football Association Chairman, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe is disgusted about the incident that happened at the premises of the GFA where representatives of George Afriyie were prevented from entering the facility.
Reports went rife on social media and in the media space after representatives of George Afriyie who were going to file the disqualification appeal were barred from entering the premises.
Though George Afriyie’s representatives eventually managed to file their appeal, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has described the incident as “unfortunate and shameful”.
“The FA is a democratic institution and such a practice does not augur well for the democratic institution they see themselves to be.”
“That conduct to me was very shameful. It looks as if the principles and statutes of the FA are not being respected. That is shameful and unfortunate.”
He further entreated the current officials at the FA to be fair towards the upcoming elections.
“Elections must be conducted on an even playing field. When that is not done, it ceases to be an election,” he told Joy Sports.
The GFA presidential election was initially scheduled for September 27, 2023, but King Faisal owner, Alhaji Grusah has placed an injunction on the process.
