Dutch-born youngster of Ghanaian descent, Emmanuel Poku, has inked his first professional contract, signing a three-year deal with Almere City FC.
Despite his young age, Poku made a striking impression upon joining the team earlier this season.
Though still within the age bracket of an under-18 player, Poku seized the chance to showcase his talents with Danny Schenkel’s Jong Almere City FC during the winter period.
His rapid pace and goal-scoring prowess caught the eye, leading to a succession of impressive performances.
His remarkable progress has culminated in a professional contract, binding Poku to the club until June 2027, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
Technical manager Johan Hansma said: “With his speed and his ability to make an action, Poku belongs to the category of attackers who are interesting in our way of playing.
“In recent months he has shown this again and again with the promises. We are enthusiastic about his development and look forward to working with him.”
Poku added: “Almere City FC is a fantastic club and I think I have the best chance to develop quickly here. I hope I can be of value to the club in the future.”
Emmanuel is the young brother of AZ Alkmaar forward, Ernest Poku.
