After clinching victory in the playoff final over Partizani, Albanian club Egnatia paid tribute to the late Ghanaian international, Raphael Dwamena, over the weekend.
This triumph marked Egnatia’s first-ever Albanian Super League title in their 89-year history.
In a touching gesture, Egnatia’s players held up Dwamena’s jersey in honour of the forward, while others showcased artistic tributes to celebrate his memory.
Dwamena passed away in November following his collapse on the field while playing for Egnatia during a league match.
Despite prompt medical attention, including his swift transfer to the hospital, Dwamena, unfortunately, did not survive, resulting in this tragic incident.
