Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Godfried Frimpong has completed a move to Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa, signing a two-year contract with an option for a further year after leaving Portuguese club Moreirense.
The 26-year-old former Benfica left-back has already linked up with his new teammates as the club intensifies preparations for the upcoming season.
Kasimpasa confirmed the signing in a statement:
“Our new transfer, Godfried Frimpong, signed a contract binding him to Kasimpasa for 2+1 years at the signing ceremony held at our Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities, following his check-ups at our health sponsor Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul. We welcome our new signing, Frimpong, and wish him success!”
Frimpong, who has represented the Netherlands at youth level, remains eligible to feature for the Black Stars of Ghana.
The highly-rated left-back could make his competitive debut when Kasimpasa host Trabzonspor in their Turkish Super Lig opener on Monday, August 18, 2025.
