Hossam Hassan replaced the Portuguese head coach Rui Vitoria after the disappointing AFCON campaign by the Pharaohs in Ivory Coast 2023.
In a shocking revelation made by the current head coach of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan, the Egyptian legend says none of the players in the Egyptian Premier League deserves to be part of the national team.
“There is no player in the Egyptian Premier League who deserves to join the Egyptian national team at the moment.”
Al Ahly has El Shenaawy, Oufa Shobeir, Hany Mohammed, Mohammed Abdelmonem, El Solia, Hussein El Shahaat, Emam Ashour, Ramy Rabia, Marwan Ateya, Akram Tawfik and Yasser Ibrahim who are all equally quality players that deserve some respect.
Zamalek has Zizo and Mohammed Sobhi who have the quality to represent Egypt.
In Pyramids, Ramadan Sobhi, Mostapha Fathi, Mohamed Hamdi and Ahmed Al Shenawy have what it takes to play for Egypt.
Hossam Hassan’s words are not encouraging at all considering the Pharos squad is made up of 90% local based players.
He is expected to name his squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau.
