Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, has expressed strong enthusiasm over the club’s new partnership with Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions FC—a collaboration that promises fresh opportunities for both clubs. The partnership is set to officially begin in June 2025.
The initiative is focused on expanding both clubs’ international presence while promoting the development of young talent, particularly in West Africa.
“We are very excited to form a partnership with Accra Lions FC, which opens up new opportunities for both clubs,” said Krösche. “This initiative will not only help us discover talent from Africa, but also contribute to sharing our sporting and organizational experiences with a dynamic club like Accra Lions.”
Founded in 2015, Accra Lions has quickly established itself as a rising force in Ghanaian football. In the 2023/24 season, the club finished second in the Ghana Premier League, fielding one of the youngest squads in professional football, with an average player age of under 20.
The club’s rapid success has been driven by a strong focus on youth development and investment in a state-of-the-art training facility—qualities that have earned them recognition beyond Ghana’s borders.
Through the partnership, Eintracht Frankfurt will gain access to scouting promising young talents from the Accra Lions system. In return, Frankfurt will support player development by sharing technical knowledge, improving training conditions, and opening potential pathways for Ghanaian players to reach the international stage.
The collaboration represents a strategic step in Eintracht Frankfurt’s broader vision of growing its global network while contributing meaningfully to the progress of football in Africa.
