Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, the former Administrative Manager of Asante Kotoko, has recently announced his departure from the club after a dedicated four-year tenure.

In a heartfelt press release, Dasoberi conveyed his appreciation to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the privilege to serve the club and for endorsing his decision to seek fresh challenges.

Dasoberi’s time at Asante Kotoko was a mix of triumphs and tribulations, with the crowning achievement of the team’s Ghana Premier League victory in the 2021/2022 season standing out as a proud moment. However, the turbulent final season under his guidance presented significant challenges that he hoped could have been avoided.

Despite the hurdles faced, Dasoberi maintains a positive outlook on the club’s future, expressing his belief that Asante Kotoko will rise once more to reclaim its position as champions of Ghana and a formidable force in African football.

As he transitions into his new role as CAF Professional Football Manager, Dasoberi extended his gratitude to former Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah, as well as all management, staff, technical team members, and players he collaborated with during his time at the club.

Below is the statement:

GRATITUDE TO HIS MAJESTY OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II, AS HE GRANTS ME HIS BLESSINGS TO LEAVE ASANTE KOTOKO FOR A NEW CHALLENGE

After four years of serving the great Kumasi Asante Kotoko, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the club, to pursue a new challenge in my football management career.

Getting the opportunity to work at Asante Kotoko was a rare privilege, not only work at one of the biggest football clubs on the African continent, it was also a privilege to serve His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II – something I will forever cherish.

My utmost gratitude goes to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for giving me the opportunity to work in his club, getting the support of Manhyia throughout my time, and also getting his blessings to pursue a new challenge on the African continent.

Indeed I could not have left without the blessings of His Majesty, and I will forever be grateful.

Working for Asante Kotoko has offered me invaluable experience in football management, as I experienced both high and low moments with the club. Winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2021/2022 season and leading the club back to Africa will forever be a proud moment.

And the topsy-turvey season the club had, in my final season with the club, was an experience I wish could have been a different story. However, I leave with great joy, seeing that the club ended the season strongly, with an indication of a stronger season ahead.

I thank the former CEO of the club Nana Yaw Amponsah, as well as all management members, staff, technical team members and playing body that I have worked with.

To the fans, your loyal support to the club, always serve as inspiration for all those who work for this great club, and I was not an exception.

In the true spirt of the club’s motto, “wo kum apem, apem be a,’ Asante Kotoko will rise again and reclaim its rightful place as champions of Ghana, as well as the quest to see the club among the elites on the African continent.

Long live Asante Kotoko.

Long live Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Long live Asanteman

And long live Ghana.
