Ghanaian international Emmanuel Gyasi played a pivotal role in Empoli’s 1-1 away draw against Bologna in the Italian Serie A on Saturday evening, securing an important point for his team.
Empoli maintained their unbeaten run in the 2024–25 Serie A season, extending it to three matches with this hard-fought stalemate at the Stadio Renato Dell’Ara.
The match began in dramatic fashion, with Bologna taking the lead within the first 90 seconds. A corner from Sam Beukema was flicked on to Giovanni Fabbian, who found himself unmarked at the back post to tap the ball into the net.
However, Empoli responded almost immediately. Catching Bologna off guard, Giuseppe Pezzella launched a counter-attack and delivered a precise cross to the far post, where Emmanuel Gyasi expertly cushioned the ball over the line with his chest to equalize.
Gyasi’s outstanding performance throughout the game earned him the Man of the Match award. The former Black Stars striker has now scored two goals in three Serie A appearances for Empoli this season, proving to be a key player in their campaign.
