Engineers & Planners has taken a major step in supporting Ghana’s World Cup ambitions after making a $2 million payment toward the Black Stars fundraising campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The payment was presented to the Deputy Finance Minister Honourable Thomas Nyarko Ampem made on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He received the cheque as part of a broader corporate-backed initiative to strengthen the team’s preparations. Representatives of the company led the presentation, with founder Ibrahim Mahama also present.
The contribution forms part of Engineers & Planners’ previously announced $5 million headline sponsorship commitment unveiled in March 2026. That pledge positioned the firm as a key private sector partner in Ghana’s build-up to the tournament, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The fundraising campaign is aimed at securing the financial resources required to meet the demands of competing at the highest level, including logistics, training infrastructure and international preparations. With Ghana drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, stakeholders have stressed the importance of early and sustained investment.
Engineers & Planners’ involvement highlights the growing role of corporate Ghana in supporting national teams. The company’s continued financial backing is expected to ease pressure on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as it finalises plans for the World Cup campaign.
Officials at the ceremony described the payment as a significant boost, noting that structured funding from corporate partners is critical to long-term planning and performance.
Further details on additional sponsors and partnerships are expected to be announced as the fundraising drive gathers momentum in the coming weeks.
