English Championship side Hull City have joined several European and Middle Eastern clubs monitoring the situation of Ghana international midfielder Kwasi Sibo, who is currently available on a free transfer following his departure from Spanish club Real Oviedo.
The 28-year-old has attracted growing interest after an impressive 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with the Black Stars, where his performances on the biggest stage enhanced his reputation among clubs searching for an experienced midfield presence.
Sibo made his World Cup debut in Ghana’s opening Group L fixture against Panama before earning a starting role against England. He featured in all four matches for the Black Stars, playing 249 minutes as Ghana progressed from the group stage before bowing out in the Round of 32 following a narrow defeat to Colombia.
His composure, work rate and ability to operate in different midfield roles have reportedly caught the attention of Hull City, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Championship season.
However, the Tigers are expected to face strong competition for his signature. Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah are reportedly leading the chase, while other clubs from Europe and the Middle East are also monitoring the midfielder’s availability.
Sibo became a free agent after ending his spell with Real Oviedo, where he played an important role following his arrival in 2024 from Amorebieta. He initially joined Oviedo on a free transfer after previously featuring for Real Betis.
The Ghanaian has enjoyed a diverse European career, having also represented clubs including Urartu, Watford, Skenderbeu and UD Ibiza before establishing himself in Spanish football.
With his international experience, European pedigree and recent World Cup exposure, Sibo is expected to be one of the most sought-after free agents during the ongoing transfer window. Hull City will now have to move quickly if they want to secure the services of the Black Stars midfielder ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
