Italian Serie C side AS Cittadella have completed the signing of Ghanaian striker Joseph Ansah Ekuban as they strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 26-year-old forward joins the promotion hopefuls on a permanent deal after ending his spell with fellow Italian third-tier club Renate.
Cittadella moved to secure Ekuban’s services as they look to add more attacking firepower to their squad in their bid to return to Serie B. The club believes the Ghanaian’s physical strength, attacking intelligence and goal-scoring ability will provide a valuable boost to their frontline.
Announcing the transfer, Cittadella confirmed:
“AS Cittadella announces that Joseph Ansah Ekuban is a new Cittadella player. The Ghanaian striker born in 2000 arrives on a permanent deal. We welcome Joseph to the city and wish him the best of luck in the next season wearing our colours.”
Ekuban follows in the footsteps of his elder brother Caleb Ekuban, the Genoa and Ghana national team forward, who has built a strong reputation in Italian and European football.
Like Caleb, Joseph is known for his ability to hold up play, compete physically with defenders and create scoring opportunities through his movement and strength in attack.
The striker arrives with considerable experience in Italy’s lower divisions, having represented several clubs including Virtus Villafranca, Monterosi, Fidelis Andria, Arezzo, Latina and Renate.
During his career, Ekuban has gained valuable experience across Italy’s professional leagues, developing into a reliable attacking option capable of leading the line.
His move to Cittadella presents another important opportunity for the Ghanaian forward to make an impact as he aims to help the club achieve promotion ambitions while continuing the Ekuban family’s football journey in Italy.
