Watford suffered a frustrating defeat at Turf Moor, losing 2-1 to Burnley in a tightly contested Championship encounter.
Despite a late goal from English-Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Baah, the Hornets were unable to salvage a point.
Burnley struck early, opening the scoring in the 9th minute when Jaidon Anthony expertly converted a Josh Brownhill cross. The hosts extended their lead in the 62nd minute, with Brownhill delivering a sensational strike into the top corner from the edge of the box after a clever assist from Hannibal Mejbri.
Watford found a glimmer of hope in the 80th minute when Kwadwo Baah capitalized on a corner, firing a right-footed effort into the top right corner. Baah’s tireless performance over 90 minutes was a standout for the visitors, driving their push for a late equalizer.
Despite Watford’s determined efforts, Burnley’s defense held strong, denying the Hornets any chance to draw level. Watford will aim to rebound when they face Portsmouth on December 26th as they continue their Championship campaign.
