Ghanaian youngster, Eric Ayiah, scored his maiden goal Gil Vicente as they came from a goal down to beat Maritimo Madeira.
Ayiah was named in the starting line-up for the reserves’ game against Madeira on Tuesday afternoon having featured in the previous game against Rio Ave.
Madeira took the lead before the end of the first 45 minutes as they headed into the break with a 1-0 score.
However, Ayiah equalised for Gil Vicente after recess before Andre Liberal scored to snatch a win for the away side.
Despite joining from AS Monaco to enjoy first-team football, Ayiah continues to play for the U-23s. This is because he was not registered in time for the senior team and will continue with the junior until January to play with the first team.
