Former Ghana Football Association vice president Fred Pappoe says it will be suicidal to sack Otto Addo as head coach ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The former Accra Great Olympics FC administrator says friendly games are played to prepare for a tournament proper and believes sacking the coach is not an option.

His comments after a section of the public and football enthusiasts called for the sack of Otto Addo following a catastrophic performance against Brazil and uninspiring display against minnows Nicaragua.

“Like we did going into the 2006 world cup, the friendly matches are being played not necessarily for results but to look out for individual performance and how systems will look for the coaches.”

“We should not confuse ourselves by calling for the sack of the coach due to the performance of the team from a friendly match.”

“We should not be quick to pass judgement on whether Otto Addo is good or bad, to me he good. We cannot change him at this time, For me that will be a suicidal”, he told Akoma FM.
