Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah has expressed his excitement after playing a key role in Olympique Lyon’s vital away victory against OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1.
Nuamah made a significant impact on Sunday, netting the second goal in Lyon’s 2-0 win at the Allianz Riviera. His contribution helped seal all three points for his team in an important fixture.
The game remained tightly contested until the 78th minute when Rayan Cherki broke the deadlock for Lyon. Just five minutes later, Nuamah capitalized on an opportunity to double the lead in the 83rd minute, securing the win.
“I got the ball back, I took my time, then I saw the target and it went in,” Nuamah said after the match. “I think we were good, we had the ball but we also lost it a lot. In the second half, we settled down a lot more and we knew how to find the spaces.”
He also highlighted the team’s positive atmosphere and determination to perform well in every game. “We are happy, we play together, there is good energy, and that is reflected on the pitch. Every match, I try to score and help the team. It is not always at the Groupama Stadium, but it is also important away from home.”
With this goal, Nuamah has now scored three times in the French Ligue 1 this season. He has also provided one assist in 20 league appearances so far.
