Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah has been included in WhoScored’s Europa League Team of the Week after delivering a stellar performance for Olympique Lyonnais against FCSB.
The 21-year-old forward netted twice as Lyon secured a dominant victory over the Romanian side, earning them a place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Lyon will now face Manchester United in the next stage.
Nuamah’s impressive display earned him a rating of 9.66, placing him among the standout players of the week alongside Nico Williams and his teammate Georges Mikautadze.
Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes was also named in the Team of the Week after scoring a hat-trick against Real Sociedad. He was joined by fellow Portuguese international Diogo Dalot. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce’s Mert Muldur and Milan Skriniar formed the central defensive partnership, with Sebastian Szymański included in midfield.
The lineup was rounded off by Yuri Berchiche and Hugo Ekitike, completing the best XI of the Europa League this week.
Nuamah’s brace takes his tally to three goals in nine Europa League matches this season.
The Right to Dream Academy product has also been named in Ghana’s Black Stars squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
